Kettles On in Kingscliff, NSW can be described in one word, detail.

Located in one of the most picturesque and quiet locations on the Gold Coast, Kettles On is nestled along the main esplanade of Kingscliff.

The service is excellent, with employees that actually seem like they enjoy their job, unlike many cafes. Although they are right across from the beach so if they don't like their job, I don't think they are trying hard enough.

Their barista is one of the best I have seen in quite a while as we both ordered our 'more difficult' orders to see how good they are and both our drinks were incredible. As I said before it is the attention to detail that makes Kettles On shine. I asked the waitress if they have chai lattes and she said, "Yes, would you like that on tea or powder?" Insert my look of pleasant shock that they offered both! I quickly asked for the tea on soy milk. They did not disappoint, the flavour hit out of the park.



My husband's drink of choice is an Iced Americano, although many places are catching onto this American drink most independent cafes in Queensland still don't offer this beverage. However, the waitress didn't bat an eye and said, "Absolutely". Points!

When he received his drink he immediately looked at me and said, "You better review this place". They not only served an Iced Americano but as the waitress said it was an "Iced Americano with style" it came on its' own special board with a glass of ice, a pitcher of cool water and an adorable little beaker of espresso. Needless to say, he was stoked and while he was drinking it I could hear happy little sounds coming from his side of the couch.



The food is incredible, slightly expensive (a $14 burger doesn't come with any sides), but the attention to detail in the preparation is amazing. I imagine the higher prices are due to the cost of beach front property so you would expect to pay a little more. The hardest part was choosing what I wanted to nibble as everything on the menu sounded amazing and very unique.

I had the Indo Chicken which was on a fluffy beautifully toasted bun with coriander, fresh chillis, freshly made peanut satay and not oversauced. I know that last point seems silly but so many cafes pour sauce onto their food in hopes to salvage some sort of flavour, instead of infusing it into the dish while it is prepared *cough* Coffee Club *cough*.





Overall the food was excellent, my husband had another chicken burger that they offered, it was similar to mine but with some different flavourings, we saw a lot of other delicious things on the menu including many GF options. We both commented that the burgers didn't have sides but we were both completely satisfied with our meals that we quickly forgot.



The general vibe of the place is everything that you look for in a cosy beach side cafe and bar, with dark wood panelling lining all the right places, overstuffed lounges mixed with traditional seating, high benches, low benches, outdoor seating and indoor seating, they had it all.



We will definitely be going back to this place, especially since they had free Wifi and we tend to need cafes to work out of quite often. I noticed several kid-friendly spaces, low benches and high chairs so I think it would be a great place to take our son back to.

My only criticism of this establishment is it is across the street from the surf club so there isn't a direct view of the beach but honestly we did not notice this because we were enjoying ourselves too much.



Combine all these things with the fresh sea breezes and you have yourself a perfect afternoon work station or a beautiful Sunday morning breakfast with the family. I highly recommend in Kingscliff, NSW.
