Sat 26 Oct 2019 - Sun 27 Oct 2019

The is on again Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 October 2019 and is bigger than ever. With this year's theme being Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, you'll be able to pick up heaps of great ideas on how you can reduce your impact on our planet.

With many local community groups and local friends groups setting up stalls and providing information, plenty of kids activities and live music (on Sunday), it's a free and fun day out for the whole family.

The Knox Environment Society (KES) will have some great deals on selected indigenous tube stock and larger plants and pick up some great tips from the "Seedy Ladies" to help you turn your garden into an oasis.

Knox Community Gardens Society Inc will have a stall where you can stop by and have a chat and grab some fresh veggies and herb seedlings.

Learn more from the "Healthy Rivers, Healthy Bay" team, who aim to raise community awareness of the health of two major catchments (Yarra and Dandenong) feeding into Port Phillip Bay.

Plastic Bag Free Dandenong Ranges is working to ban single use plastic bags in the region. Skip the plastic and grab yourself a wonderful bag from Boomerang Bags as well as veggie bags handmade by volunteers from recycled materials.

Check out the fabulous work from ceramic artists 'The Treefern Potters.' Their work ranges from the tiny to the large, delicate to chunky, from simple to elaborate and from intricate jewellery to recycled wall art.

The Knox Toy Library provides a great alternative to buying endless toys that are no longer played with. Learn more about this great service that encourages, learning, growth, creativity, physical activity and fun.

The following local community and friends groups would also love you to stop by and say hello:

* Friends of Koolunga Native Reserve
* Save the Lysterfield Valley
* First Friends of Dandenong Creek
* Friends of Old Joes Creek
* Friends of Blind Creek Billabong
* Low-Impact Living Knox
* Fly By Night Bat Clinic (Saturday only)
* Warriors 4 Wildlife (Sunday only) rescuing and caring for injured wildlife

On Sunday, the festival will have live music:

9.00 –10.30: students and beginners
11.30-12.30: Bush Band
12.30 – 1.30: Jamie McClennan
1.30 –2.30: The Flying Foxes

The Knox Environment Society (KES) is a membership-based organisation of like-minded individuals that have a concern for the environment. KES work closely with Knox Council, other Environmental Groups, Friends Groups and individuals to achieve the Society's objectives.
