Nene Davies summed up Keppel Kraken in her article perfectly. Since first opening to the public in 2015, Keppel Kraken is not only a sea creature wonderland with water splashing out from the ground but this place is Yeppoon's best water play. This all-ability playground takes pride of place on the Yeppoon Foreshore. With a mosaic-patterned Kraken, a mythical sea creature that becomes the centrepiece and is set against the spectacular backdrop of Keppel Bay, this place is not only a place to go for locals but also a tourist attraction that becomes a perfect place to soak up some sunshine on the beautiful Capricorn Coast.
Keppel Kraken is free to access with interactive elements including water cannons and jets. There is also timber decks and custom-made picnic tables that are available to enjoy while barbecuing. If you're not up to cooking, there plenty of eating areas just across from Keppel Kraken. There is also a grass area that you can sit on and have picnics while your children have fun. There is a small carpark nearby but during summer time it will be hard to get a parking spot as Yeppoon foreshore is a favourite place to go during the warmer times of the year. There is an amenities block close by, which is handy. The water play area is non-fenced, so it's important to watch your children while they're playing at Keppel Kraken.
