Nestled in amongst the parks and gullies of Nelson Road is at Para Vista. reserve was developed in the late 1960's around an old homestead, orchard and disused stables.
Upgraded in 2015, it's a wide open green space with walking paths, sheltered and fenced play area with chairs and tables, perfect for picnics. There's no BBQ but you can bring your own, or bring a packed lunch. It's dog friendly and you can let them off the leash between 6.30pm and 8am.
It's been home to Northridge Para Vista Scout Group since the early 70's. The scout hall was built on the foundations of the old homestead. A circle of stones amongst newly planted fruit trees hints at the history of the place. The old stone walls of the stables were only removed in 2013 when they fell into disrepair.
The BMX tracks are the main attraction. The tracks snake around the huge space, and near the playground is a round course with banked turns and jumps for the older kids.
It's an excellent place to bring the kids to let off some steam and ride their bikes in the Northeast of Adelaide!
