Looking for a country day trip this long weekend? Need some art for your walls?

Why not combine the two and head to the Kenilworth ArtsFest this October long weekend, Friday 4th 10 - 4, Saturday 5th & Sunday 6th 10 - 4, Monday 7th 10-1?



This long-running arts festival hosted by the Kenilworths Arts Council receives around 200 entries - from emerging artists vying for the $500 Encouragement Award to experienced artists competing for the major prize, the Kenilworth Art Award, worth $7500. The festival also includes a poetry competition, with a Poets' Breakfast early Saturday morning.

The presentation and official opening of ArtsFest 2019 is on Friday 4th October, 6pm til 8pm at the Kenilworth Public Hall, near the pool and showgrounds. Entry is $12 with light refreshments and a cash bar.



Kenilworth and surrounds are lovely town to visit. Drop into the town's tourist information centre in the main street for a local map of places to visit.



And if you need a hand-knitted tea cosy...the craft shop out the back has got you covered!



There are some great food options in the main street, such as McGinn's cafe or the Kenilworth Country Bakery with its 1kg doughnut challenge. And there's the Kenilworth Dairies where you can get some cheese or ice-cream fresh from the factory.



There is so much to explore any time in the beautiful Mary Valley - but go this weekend and get your hands on some local art...and a tea cosy!
