Are you a budding photographer? Do you love the amazing beauty of the great outdoors? Or maybe you just love and appreciate splendid and exquisite pieces of art?

Whatever category you fit into, the at Erina Heights on the NSW Central Coast is well worth the visit. Nestled in a beautiful architecturally-designed building amongst landscaped gardens, manicure lawns and sculpture, the gallery features a number of key elements.

Walking straight through the doorway you will notice the high-raked ceilings and modern décor. Check out the retail area at the front of the gallery for various mementos such as photo books, puzzles, greeting cards and posters. Be blown away by the attention to detail and quality in every Ken Duncan product.

Ken Duncan is a world renowned landscape photographer with decades of experience. He has won many awards including the coveted Gold Tripod by the Photo Imaging Council of Australia and "Benny" award in the USA. He is a recipient of an Order of Australia award from the federal government and was announced as the Gosford City Council 2009 Citizen of the Year due to his services to the Central Coast area, of which he is very proud. An avid Christian, Ken's description of himself is "an average photographer with a great God – merely an interpreter of God's creation".

The main gallery area of the building is over to the left from where you walk in. Spaciously set out, the majestic panographs on display are updated regularly so no matter how many times you visit you won't ever get bored. Enjoy the gallery's tranquility as your eyes capture each and every scene while the soft, relaxing music in the background helps to create an environment conducive to peace, relaxation and leaving your soul feeling refreshed.

Traditional shots are easily recognisable such as "Craig's Hut" looking out at sunset over Snowy River country. Craig's Hut was actually built for The Man From Snowy River movie. Tragically it was lost in the Victorian fires in 2006 but this stunning shot will forever immortalise it in our memories. Other shots include pristine, white silica beaches in the Whitsunday areas surrounded by translucent turquoise waters that sparkle like precious gems in the sunlight and Ken's recent foray into wildlife photography featuring stunning shots captured last year on a trip to Africa.

If you still want yet more of Australiana then you won't be disappointed with the array of shots from the Kimberly region to the Central Coast to the Northern Territory. The reds, the ochres, and the spectacular colours jump from one shot in particular taken of Kata Tjuka. It is possible that a shot taken from this area of Kata Tjuka will never be taken again as the local Indigenous people have closed that particular area off now to the general public. There is a generous mix of both Australiana shots and other superb pieces from around the world from Ken's various trips.

Now entry into the gallery is completely free-of-charge and there is no obligation to buy anything if you just want to have a look. However, you would be doing yourself a disservice if you don't stop long enough to enjoy the 20 minute presentation of "The Light/Reflections" in the 45 seat theatre for an intimate and moving experience. At just $3.00 per person you will agree it's an absolute bargain. If you've got even more time to kill and have a genuine interest in photography then you may want to hang around for the 50 minute presentation called "Creating The 3rd Dimension". Enjoy key instructional information about creating that extra dimension in your photography so you can really bring those shots to life. At only $10 per person this is an excellent price to learn of one of the true masters of landscape photography of our generation. Presentations run every hour between 10.30am and 3.30pm daily.

After taking in those mouth-watering shots and wishing you were jetting off to one of those exotic locations why not settle down in the lovely Sanctuary Café for a warm beverage or maybe even a lunch or afternoon tea? While you wait for your order to be served to you by their friendly staff maybe you can sit there and plan out your next trip to an amazing destination for some much needed rest and relaxation. Do yourself and your soul a favour – visit the Ken Duncan Fine Art Gallery soon and be taken to paradise.

The gallery is open 7 days a week from 10am to 5pm daily. Sanctuary Cafe is open from 8am Monday to Friday and from 8.30am on Saturdays and Sundays. The gallery is closed on Good Friday, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.
