in Yeppoon is a relatively popular beach for locals and travellers because of its accessible beaches. is located just south of Rosslyn Bay Marina, on the Scenic Highway that links Yeppoon and Emu Park. It's about 30 minutes drive from Rockhampton.

is nestled between two large post-volcanic trachyte headlands; Double Head to the north and Bluff Point to the south, both of which are part of the Capricorn Coast National Park.

has five walking access points, There is a smooth long walking path between each access point and a favourite walking site if you don't want to go to the beach but want a beach background while walking, pushing a pram with your little one or cycling.

usually have low waves, averaging less than 0.5 m that break across a 200 m wide, and low gradients low tide bar and up a moderate gradient high tide beach. This feature makes relatively safe for swimming. There is a shower cubicle at each access point with a picnic table nearby. Pity these picnic tables don't have a cover as it would be very hot in summer.

Plenty of parking spaces, either in the car parking bays that line the highway or at the picnic area at the base of Bluff Point. Vehicles are not allowed on the beach.

Occasionally, you will see green turtles, dugongs and dolphins around the beach. Fishing is also favourable on the northern end of the beach. We could see some little boats and a big ship around that might also be fishing.

protects eucalyptus forests and coastal sand dune heath and features a rocky headland rising 60m above sea level. Some big pine trees along the beach make good shade and offer a good spot to throw your beach rug or towel. is quite a distance from the nearest town lights and it makes the beach a great place for stargazing with friends at night. There are no camping facilities. While it's fine to go there at night, the car parks are routinely policed in the evenings and illegal campers moved on.
