Kelmscott's favourite show is back in town for 2018
In the third week of October every year, the Make Smoking History Kelmscott Show rolls into town for two days of agriculture, market stalls, food and plenty of entertainment.

The show will take place on the evening of Friday, 19 October from 4pm to 9pm and Saturday, 20 October from 9am to 6pm at the Rushton Park Showgrounds in Kelmscott.

While the animals will be sleeping in preparation for a big Saturday, the Friday night show will feature a spectacle of fireworks, fairground fun and live music and entertainment. On Saturday, the animals will be on show including the raptors, reptiles, sheep shearing demonstrations, the alpaca display and Old MacDonalds Farmyard Nursery.

On Saturday, you can also browse the River Markets, located on the banks of the Canning River. Just some of the stalls will include arts and crafts, children's ride and camel and pony rides! Sideshow Alley, on the main oval, will also feature sideshow rides and games for kids of all ages.

In the Main Exhibition Hall, you can watch demonstrations and performances and see competitive displays across a range of areas including food, wine, homebrew, needlework and arts.

Over at the Kids Interactive Zone, children can take part in some fantastic free activities including games, an obstacle course, woodwork, hands-on workshops and arts and crafts. The Kids Interactive Zone will take place on Saturday only.

One of the most popular attractions at the Kelmscott Show is the Log Chop, a competitive event dedicated to the art of log chopping and a nod to early settlers. It is certainly a sight to behold!

This year, the search is on for the Kelmscott Idol! Finalists will take their spot on the main stage on Saturday, 20 October from 1pm, with fantastic prize money available and a chance for locals to showcase their talent.

Some of the other exhibitions on display include the Flower Pavilion, which includes competitive displays and a children's section, plus the Schools Pavilion, which is a display of schoolwork by local school children.
