As part of the Bis Funny Fest, Brisbane Comedian Keith Cheng takes a self effacing look at his own life, behaviour and face, trying to figure out why he doesn't have a girlfriend in his show
Keith on Fire . Keith Cheng will provide raw and edgy comedy that looks at his cultural background, high functioning autism and of course what is wrong with his face.
About Keith Cheng
With a Masters Degree in Astrophysics and high functioning autism,
Keith Cheng's life is a struggle between high IQ and low EQ. As you can guess, a lot of his comedy focuses on how he navigates various social situations that he can't quite get a handle on. As he put it "I don't speak English but I speak jokes."
The Show
Keith's raw, but insightful comedy style is turned in this show to the issue of his burned face. His comedy is born out of the question of whether people are reacting to his ethnic background, his autistic behaviour or just to his face.
Keith on Fire discusses his personal journey to deal with his own issues, in particular the one of trying to find a girlfriend. He started by joining a gym until a doctor told him that a gym will never fix his face.
Why See Keith
For $15, this is a show well worth seeing for anyone who likes to see young upcoming performers. While the performance is raw and edgy (yes, expect swearing), it is the universal problem of today where people are educated and intelligent but increasingly socially awkward.
The Venue
The performance will take place at the intimate space of the Five Sisters Cafe and Bar. Meals are around about $15, though they also have a range of snacks available as well.
