I'm a member of this fair city, working in events and PR, I'll literally do anything PG.
Coming into the spotlight of national radio play and tours with the release of "Hand Me My Bow and Arrow", Kate Martin is a child of the folk traditions of North Queensland and Australia.

Kate herself explains the title, as "a [symbol] of the undiscovered warrior instinct that lies within us all." The Debut is a gentle but powerful release sure to fill you with melancholy and hope.

Nathan Roche, of Artground and AU Review states "She has that same addictiveness you'd find in a Feist, Sarah Blasko or New Buffalo tune".

The CD was recorded with producer Michael Carpenter of Love Hz Studios, with her band and features track work with Bree Tranter and Rohin Jones of The Middle East.

Candle Burnin', Wax Drippin'

The Far Northern blend of folk; intricate melodies and powerful movements, is something unique to Australia and needs to be heard and experienced, before everyone moves to London, become international super stars and pretends they are from New Zealand.

Kate is doing her Melbourne debut at The Toff in Town legendary venue in the heart of the CBD. After the show be sure to head to the rooftop bar where you can find the tastiest mulled wine and cider, sitting in a jewel of light and warmth nestled into the Melbourne Skyline.

Drinkin and thinkin
A steaming glass of mulled wine, be sure to buy me one after the gig.

Kate will be supported by Ben Wells & The Middle Names, a melodic and textured 5 piece with layered vocal arrangements, who's "story-telling of love and loss was highlighted and escaped to new heights" Lachlan Mitchell AU Review

Ben and the gang.

All in all it will be a special night, where two very talented up and coming Australian bands will have the opportunity to share their music and memories with you. Bring people you love, scarf up and make sure you get one of the rooftop bar's delicious beverages and just bask in the many heaters as you look at the glimmering spires of Melbourne as subtle folk strains dance in your ear's memory.
