The markets are located under the big shady trees

This community market is a meeting point between the locals and travellers, crafty persons with big ideas and the buyers. There is plenty of interesting craft items for sale made by the locals, gifts ideas or souvenirs, as well as some fresh produce such as some Asian greens and chilli.

Since Karumba is a mecca for fishing; we a small market stall with a huge range of fishing necessity. You can also find some useful things while you are travelling in the camper van. As we browsed through this small market and had a chat with some market stall owners; we found out that some of them are people travelling around Australia who try to get a little bit of money by making and selling all sorts of items.

These markets are only small but a very popular place to mingle with the locals and other visitors. After you have looked around, you can always head into the Sunset Tavern for a nice cuppa. There is another market in Karumba, a Twilight Markets that held every Wednesdays from 4 to 6 pm.
