Karrinyup Swapmart Market

Prices at the
Karrinyup Swapmart make op shops look positively prohibitive – with plenty of items priced at just $1.
There are lots of second hand clothes, baby gear, toys, tools, and books. A smattering of people sell vintage wares but there is no food for sale. The market bans new goods but seems to make an exception for plants.
My finds included two t-shirts at a dollar each, three toy tiaras for my daughter for a dollar the lot, six packets of stickers for $2, and a large length of vintage upholstery fabric in perfect condition for $7.
The market is run by Scarborough Rotary Club in the Big W car park on Sunday mornings except on Sunday trading days. The car park is under cover, making it a good option even on hot or rainy days.
The market is a major fundraiser for the club, which supports projects including a workshop producing
wheelchairs for disabled children in developing countries.
If you're keen to run a stall you'll need to get there early (5.30-6.20am) and pay $10 for a spot. It's a good alternative to a garage sale with shoppers guaranteed to show up.
The Karrinyup Swapmart runs every Sunday from the 15th of January to the end of November.
