If you're ever in the South West, then make sure you go out of your way to drop into . It's a local hot spot, far from the tourist crowd and attracts some real characters. On certain nights the local celebrity, a national champion pool and snooker player, puts on a real show for the interested crowd by showing off the tricks he has learnt along the way. The appreciative crowd is always a healthy mix of young and old, and always willing to chat.

The highlight of this particular tavern, however, is the food. Their prices are cheap compared to Perth's taverns, and the food? Better than any Perth pub I have been to. I chose the daily special of local Groper with lemon sauce. It came on a huge plate with plenty of fries and salad, just the way I like it. At $30 it was the most expensive meal on offer, and worth every cent. The fish was clearly freshly caught right off the coast. They carry an impressively extensive menu, ranging from snacks and meals to deserts.

Naturally, the tavern's location in the South West and heart of the vineyards means there is an extensive range of wines, rums and other brews on offer at the bar. The warm and friendly atmosphere really makes you feel at home, and I can guarantee you won't want to leave this welcoming tavern.
