This August 2022, you are invited to visit the heart of the Mallee to discover a digital SALA exhibition by a mixed group of South Australian artists.
Stop and Smell the Roses showcases how each artist interprets gratitude and appreciation. As a whole, they give an account of reflection that brings hope and joy.

Amazonian Water Lily are among my favourites. Other artists include Cherie Anderson, Lyn Anstey, Jen Arnold, Kat Bell, Pasquale Belperio, Sally Grundy, Kylie Martin, Mary Mcquay, Chloe Noble, Nicole Rix, Cindy Rooke, Debbie Seater and Jeannie White.
All the works of art are being celebrated through nightly projections on the Karoonda Silos from sunset to about 9pm. The display truly lights up the silos and brings them to life. I reckon the best way to experience this free 15-minute display is to stay the night. The town's tourist park offers five cabins and twelve powered sites. And, while you're there, you might also want to check out the pioneer park, centenary walk and shuffle screens nearby.
Karoonda Silos are located on Railway Terrace in Karoonda approximately 150 kilometres east of Adelaide. Take the South Eastern Freeway and exit at either Murray Bridge or Tailem Bend. Then, simply follow the road signs to Karoonda.
