Discover the limitless potential of sustainable materials in art with Karhina's creative crafts workshops for all ages.

Using sustainable textiles in arts and crafts reduces greenhouse gas emissions, saves water, reduces pollution, and decreases land clearing involved in the production of new materials. Karhina Sustainable Textile, along with founder Tamara Russell, believes in social harmony and environmental responsibility and aims to promote low impact, environmentally friendly local production.

Karhina will be running a series of workshops, beginning in February, to demonstrate the various creative uses for recycled fabrics. These workshops are divided into age groups, and are open to everyone over the age of six.

Kids Creative Craft Workshop
Ages 6-12

Children will be able to experiment with different materials and ideas, while learning about the importance of recycling on the environment. These are conducted in either small, after-school workshops, or as full or half-day workshops during the school holidays. They will be provided with their own apron at the beginning of the first class, and will be able to decorate and use it throughout the course.

Term One classes begin 3 February 2015, and run every Tuesday and Thursday from 4-5.30pm over an eight-week term. The cost of an eight-week term is $200, including afternoon tea. Classes are restricted to a maximum of 10 students.
