It's time to dress up in your frilliest skirts and sexiest shirts for
One of the year's hottest global music events, it features a stellar line-up of both local and international gypsy artists. Toes will be tapping, hips swaying and fingers clicking all night long. Gypsy music sure has a way of getting into your blood. It's heart-pumping stuff.
Artists include Baro Banda from Istanbul, much-loved for their underground gypsy roots music that blends Turkish Romany grooves with drum'n'bass,
dub, funk, jazz and hip hop.
Same goes for Stoli & The Black Train Band, The Crooked Fiddle Band (and how they fiddle) and Lola Lovina. Take a listen to their gypsy take on an old classic, and one of my favourites, Paint it Black. Wild, huh!
The Karavan Gypsy Festival, brought to you by global music traffickers, Musiktrafik, is hugely popular and tickets sell fast. Don't delay. You don't want to miss the boat, er, sorry, karavan.
