Do the Karaoke

Whether you are strictly a bathroom singer or you think you would have every chance of wining Australian Idol, karaoke is something everyone should try at least once and Sydney has a wide range of bars, pubs, and nightclubs catering to the vocally uninhibited.

Karaoke bars such as Echo Point, Karaoke World, Ding Dong Dang, and Kmix are all dedicated to helping you live out your rockstar fantasy.

Most are located close the CBD and provide an good library of songs to choose from. Some even offer a range of languages including Japanese, Chinese, Malaysian and Indonesian.

These bars provide all the kit required for performing "the karaoke", including microphones and voice modulators/keys.

While some bars are equipped with swanky touch screen systems most of them also offer private rooms or boxes that you can groove in with a few friends rather than the population of an entire pub. This is definitely my favourite way to karaoke.

Prices range $35.00 per hour onward for a private room and are cheaper for the generic lounge area. It's a good idea to book a private room in advance.
