I'm a grandmother, a retired teacher, an avid reader who loves historical re-enactment, English Country Dance, writing and Op Shopping. My business www.StepIntoHistory.com.au is designed to help children experience history through school incursions.
Just outside Nambour on the Mapleton Road, keep an eye out for this delightful lookout and park. It's on the left as you head up Blackall Range.

Keep an eye open for this sign
The park has a picnic shed, toilets and playground where you can stop for a snack, a rest stop and a play. Of course, as you can tell by the name, it also has a lookout.

Somewhere to play.
The best reason to stop is the 360 degree views. You can look inland over gentle hills and farmhouses or you can peer out to the ocean. Photographers will find plenty to occupy them.

Spectacular scenery.

Photo opportunities.

Rural living.
Make sure you have some cash because on the way there is a great roadside stall which sells herb and vegetable seedlings and other plants. I bought peas, cos lettuce and kale. They were good quality plants and are growing well - except for the kale which were nibbled by the chooks before I covered them.

Healthy plants to buy.
