The Kalorama Chestnut Festival is back on Sunday 4 May 2014 at the Kalorama Memorial Reserve. It's time to go nuts at the festival with fun and fabulous festivities.
You'll find hot food stalls by Kellys Bar & Kitchen, Pig & Whistle, Wild Oak, The Mt Dandenong Hotel and Sky High. So expect some impressive cuisine featuring the freshest local ingredients. Of course, roasted chestnuts will be available in the stalls. Sweet selections ready to satisfy those with a sweet tooth include poffertjes, fairy floss, ice cream, and masses of cakes. And various beers, wines, teas, coffees and cold drinks will be available to quench your thirst.
Little ones can head to the Kinder Kids Marquee for some fun times, animal lovers should go to Dr Moss's Petting Zoo, and hop on the awesome rides for a thrill or two. Browse the various stalls filled with jewellery, clothing, toys, scented candles, antiques and kids clothing along with heaps of other treasures. And don't forget to buy some raffle tickets for your chance to win fantastic prizes.
Garden enthusiasts should take advantage of the Mega Mini Plant Stall because there will be plenty here for your garden.
When you need a break, relax by the stage for performances by Mt Dandenong PS Vocal Ensemble. Witness some local talent as buskers take the stage, watch as members of Go Dance dance school showcase some of their groovy moves, and see Chevalier Fencing Club perform a few moves.
This is a fantastic community event and a fun family day out. With so much going on throughout the day, you're guaranteed to have a ball.
WHY is this fabulous event only being mentioned now - a week away from the date??
How is anyone expected to get a group together in time to go up?
IF this event is annual, PLEASE get someone to bother advertising at least four (4) weeks earlier! We could have had a busload of people together to enjoy this event on a wonderful day-trip. Too late now - not enough notice. I am soooo disappointed.
Many lovely 'out of town' festivals are missed out purely due to lack of notice.
Never would I drive up on my own, yet am a certainty for a group by bus. Organisers need to 'organise'! and let people know earlier if they want more attendees who REALLY want to visit and spend. I love Chestnuts & have to roast mine by microwave!
Please advertise earlier next year.
