A Free Festival of Light, Art, Music & Food
Following on from the massive success of 2016's inaugural Kaleidoscope Festival, which saw over 50,000 people drawn to the Joondalup City Centre, this year's Festival will once again electrify and inspire. Running from November 9th to 12th, this world-class light and illumination festival will transform Joondalup City Centre into an interactive living, breathing entertainment hub - a true 'City of the Future'.

Kaleidoscope is a free, family-friendly and accessible event that will be taking place over four nights, with a dazzling range of illumination, art, installations, music and food. One of Perth's most unique festivals, it is truly a vibrant visual feast for all the senses and the fun installations and entertaining live performances will delight both young and old.

The expanded music and food area will start nightly at 5pm with the lights and shows running from 7.30pm to 10.30pm.
Joondalup Mayor Troy Pickard said Kaleidoscope was an important part of the City's place-making strategy.

"Kaleidoscope delivered one of the major highlights for the City in 2016 and it was a thrill to witness the tens of thousands of people that came to the Joondalup City Centre for four wonderful evenings of free family-friendly entertainment," Mayor Pickard said.

This year, Kaleidoscope Festival welcomes highly acclaimed and internationally renowned Drew Anthony as Creative Director for 2017. His previous experience includes the Sydney Olympic Games Closing Ceremony, NZ Rugby World Cup, NRL State of Origin and White Night in Melbourne and Ballarat.

Major highlights for 2017 include:

Fantastic Planet by Amanda Parer (Tasmania)

Two giant illuminated humanoid figures will invade Joondalup, which from afar, give audiences the impression that they have just landed and are gently exploring our planet.

All You Need Is Love by Carla O'Brien (Victoria)
Dubbed 'Selfie Heaven', this installation is a compelling and musical interactive walk-through, made even more famous by superstar Katie Perry when she posted photos of herself at the 2016 Burning Man Festival. Come along and take some selfies and join the social media storm.
