A place to stay that feels a little like home
We recently had the opportunity to stay at the Best Western PLUS Kalbarri Edge Resort, located just under two hours north of Geralton. These are ideally placed for short stays out of Perth or en route to or from the Western Australia capital to the far north, Ningaloo Reef or Monkey Mia. Perfect for the fishing enthusiasts, adventurers wanting to explore the local gorges, or surfers seeking the best breaks. We booked one of their special 3-night package deals advertised at $399.
We were welcomed with chocolates and a bottle of wine (good to see it was from Margaret river) on arrival. Our stay was very comfortable with the unit providing all mod cons, a comfortable king size bed, spacious bathroom that included a small spa and also included an all in one washer dryer for laundry needs. The kitchen was quite adequate and also included a small dishwasher and good sized fridge.
We opted for upstairs accommodation as this gave us the added benefit of a private balcony that had a 5 piece outdoor setting as well as a good sized gas bbq. The accommodation met all our needs. There is the availability to have an extra adjoining room which would be ideal for a couple with children.
The restaurant was clean and well managed at breakfast time, with a daily very substantial full continental breakfast included in the package price. The complex is a short walk to the waterfront and there is a shuttle provided from the Edge to the visitors centre for guests arriving and departing by TransWa.
The town of Kalbarri is quite scenic and there are tours that can be booked through the visitors centre.
