Hay, Kalbar's Country Day is happening in 2021
Hay sculptures will soon be dotting the countryside as the Scenic Rim's hay artists prepare for the annual Kalbar Country Day. Sculptures need to be up by the 25th September to be included in the 2022 Hay Sculpture Calendar.
Held on Saturday 16 October 2021, this is one fun family event not to miss. Kicking off at 7 am with a free bush poetry breakfast, Kalbar's main street will transform into a buzzing hive of activity with markets, games, fashion parades, entertainment, vintage cars and scrumptious country fare.
Whether you are searching for plants, salt lamps, honey, windmills, fashion, arts and crafts or homemade goodies, you will be sure to find it here. The fudge and sweets sell quickly, so an early visit to the food stalls is recommended.
A day at Kalbar's Country Day would not be complete without carrot tossing and horseshoe quoits. The fun isn't just for the adults; children will be kept amused with rides, face painting and the hay scramble.
Enjoy Kalbar's country hospitality by tucking into a delicious Devonshire tea or grabbing a bite to eat at one of the food trucks before relaxing on one of the many hay bales lining the street. Local bands will be performing throughout the day. If you're feeling lucky, don't forget to try your luck at one of the raffles.
Kalbar's Country Day is the perfect opportunity to get into the country spirit this October while supporting the local community.
If you're unable to attend, but wish to support the community, the 2022 Lion's Hay Sculpture Calendar will soon be available for purchase. Information can be found on the Kalbar Country Day Facebook page.
