Come to the Stirk Medieval Fayre
Calling all knights and fair ladies, peasants, troubadours, crusaders and jesters! The Kalamunda Zig Zag Community Arts Festival is on again and this year it will be a giant 'Medieval Fayre'.

The Festival began in the 1980's but has been the responsibility of Zig Zag Community Arts Inc since the mid-1990's. ZZCA is dedicated to increasing participation and appreciation of the arts in the Hills and nearby.

Zig Zag Arts encourages everyone to participate

Every year pre-festival workshops offer a chance for all to join in. This year children attended Maypole Dancing lessons and people of all ages helped to build a fire-breathing dragon float for the Festival Parade.

At the Festival there will be three stages featuring many different types of entertainment, as well as roving performers. In the market area there are more than 50 arts, crafts and food stalls.

Other popular features are the free activities for children and young people, many with a creative arts focus.

The highlight of the day is the Festival Parade. Community groups of all kinds march with floats and music leading to the grand Finale where everyone can join in the celebration.
