Who wouldn't want a fairy neighbour?
There's always been something kind of magical about the Perth Hills but now Kalamunda has been sprinkled in fairy dust with a recent influx of fairies moving into the area.

The fairies themselves may be quite elusive, but fairy aficionados are flocking to Kalamunda to search for their teensy tiny homes. Maps pointing out the location of fairy doors can be picked up from the Kalamunda Visitors Centre.

The maps provide a good guide for where to head to find the fairy doors but the size of them makes fairy door spotting a fun game for the littlies.

As curious fairy fans make their way to the different fairy doors they will notice the fairies each have very different personalities and hobbies, which they show off through the decorations on their doors. Most of the loactions for the fairy doors listed are walkable but there are always new fairies moving in to new parts of town.

So if you're out that way and you have little ones in the back seat, a wander around the area is a fun way to stretch the legs and explore. Plus it's FREE.
