Forklift, a breathtaking dance-circus performance work from the multi award-winning Australian company KAGE, will play at the Theatres Forecourt, Arts Centre Melbourne for a strictly limited season this February.
This unique work was devised in Australia following a development at Helsinki's CIRKO (Center for New Circus) and features contortion, aerial acrobatics, striking lighting effects and original music.
Described as 'lyrical, intimate and dangerous', Forklift sees three women (Henna Kaikula (hand balancer and contortionist in Cantina), Amy Macpherson and Nicci Wilks (ex Circus Oz)) in an industrial wasteland.
The three performers work on, and around, a working 2.5 tonne forklift, revealing natural and constructed beauty.
The piece is designed by Bluebottle 3 and is directed by Kate Denborough (one of Australia's 2013 Women of Influence).
Forklift will play nightly at the Theatres Forecourt, Arts Centre Melbourne from the12th to 16th February 2014 at 6.30pm and 9pm.
Tickets are priced between $30 and $39.
To make a booking, visit the Arts Centre Melbourne
website or contact 1300 182 183.
