Craving something different? Why not cure your cravings at ? This down to earth café is just the place to go for a simple and satisfying meal, coffee or treat at any time of day. When I eat out during the day I want a place to go where I can relax, enjoy the atmosphere and appreciate the food. Fortunately, provides the perfect environment in which to do this.

What I found overwhelmingly different about this place was the friendliness of the staff. There were smiles everywhere and general chitter chatter with the customers at the counter. The café owner, Cory Simpson and all the lovely wait staff seemed genuinely interested in their patrons and what they could offer them. What this café has on offer is a charming casual dining experience.



I went to the café for a morning coffee hit and chocolate fix. However, when I arrived I was confronted with some rather difficult decisions. Their cake cabinet was practically overflowing with an assortment of appetising sweet treats which included a number of gluten free options.

After much consideration I decided to go for something completely unexpected. I ordered the apple and rhubarb crumble ($6) and just to mix things up, I also decided on a milkshake ($5.50 or $4 for kids). They were delicious. The tartness of the rhubarb combined with the sweetness of the apple definitely woke up my tastebuds. This tantalising combination was offset perfectly by the earthiness of the delightfully crunchy crumble.



I hadn't had a milkshake in years so I was looking forward to this one. I wasn't disappointed. Gone are the days when the only flavours on offer were chocolate, vanilla or strawberry. I had never heard of a coconut milkshake before so I just had to try it. I am so glad I did. The delicate, fresh flavour of the coconut mixed with the creaminess of the milk was so refreshing. It was the perfect summer concoction. Although I didn't try the coffee, I was assured that it tasted great. And by the stream of people ordering coffees at the counter I could tell that this was the general consensus. serves the very popular but not widely distributed Campos Coffee.



I really enjoyed my morning indulgence at . Both the drink and treat were delicious without being too sweet. I felt satisfied afterwards without the usual post treat sugar high. The only disappointment was my decision to not go for breakfast or lunch instead. Mental note: Must go back to sample the menu – and a butterscotch milkshake. I think they may have started me on a milkshake craze. Variety is clearly the spice of life at this café. Milkshakes and thickshakes ($6 or $4.50 for kids) also come in an assortment of other delicious sounding flavours such as chocolate, caramel, strawberry, lime, vanilla, banana and white chocolate.



However, you can also opt for the healthier option of a fruit smoothie ($6 or $4 for kids). The drinks are large so it is great to have these alternative size options for children. Additionally, a generous selection of coffees ($3.80), teas ($3.50) and cold drinks (prices vary) are also on offer. You won't be left short of choice at this café. What I really noticed about the café is that everything looked so nice. The displays of paninis, salads, treats, biscuits and snack selections were presented beautifully. Judging by my crumble they taste even better. Dine at when you are looking for a humble and honest meal that will cure your cravings.



The breakfast and lunch menus also sound delicious. From a homely cinnamon porridge served with fresh banana, honey and homemade orange vanilla syrup to an assortment of tasty sounding egg dishes (prices range from $8.50 - $17) you will re-discover the joy in simple food prepared well. There are lots more scrumptious options such as French toast ($17) and buttermilk pancakes ($16) with all the trimmings. For something a little different you could try the zesty haloumi dish ($14.50) or corn and coriander fritters ($17.50). These meals offer something fresh and healthy for a reasonable price. Breakfasts range in price from $7.50 to $17.50.



Alternatively, if lunch out is more your thing you can choose from the displayed items as well as an assortment of other sandwiches, burgers and grills. There are combinations of flavours to suit every palate. Otherwise, for something a little heavier you could order the homemade chunky lamb and sweet potato pie infused with rosemary and served with a fresh garden salad and Krave fries ($15.50). Lunches vary in price starting at $7.50 and finishing at $17. I could list off other tempting treats from the menu for you but you really have to go and sample them for yourself. Speaking of which, so do I. I will definitely be going back for a more filling culinary experience next time.



The café is open from 6:30am until 3pm from Monday to Saturday and 8am to 2pm on Sundays. It is conveniently situated in the Homezone Centre at Windsor so it is easy to find and there is ample parking available. This little café is really popular and was bustling with business when we went. Despite the hive of activity it had a cheerful, friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Overall, this casual dining experience was highly enjoyable. I love places that provide a space to go and indulge in a great tasting meal without any pretence.
