Located within a carpark along Frances Terrace is the town's water tower. But, it's not just any bare elevated building with a tank, it's also an artistic structure with a painted mural. The artwork was beautifully created by
Anthony (or, pseudonym RESIO) in 2018 as part of the Fund My Idea grant.
Born in Victoria, RESIO loves working on large scale murals around Melbourne city. Here, we are fortunate to have one of RESIO's work of art standing proudly in Kadina.
One side of the mural depicts a young maypole girl holding copper and wheat. This signifies the Cornish heritage of the region as well as its mining and farming history. The other side portrays a steam engine which represents the integral railway line that once connected the townships. Poppies were also painted as a memorial to our fallen soldiers.
