The set lunch is particularly good value at HK$128. My starter of chilli clams was the best thing I ate all day, they were garlicky with just a hint of chilli.



The prawn and mango salad had clean flavours without being amazing and the pumpkin soup can best be described as generic.





The mains were sizeable and came with a wide variety of vegetables to complete the required five-a-day.



The chicken breast stuffed with spinach feta with mashed potatoes was soft and succulent. The mash was creamy and smooth and the tomatoes had flavour. This dish was top banana.



The fish taco was tasty enough, if unremarkable. The pros were that it came with a healthy dollop of sour cream and guacamole which are two of my favourite things to eat.



The small dessert that came at the end looked promising. It was the perfect size to round off what had been quite a substantial lunch. The ice-cream had real vanilla bean in it and satisfied my sugar craving but the peach pudding itself was a touch gluggy.



The service was the usual standard in Hong Kong; not unfriendly but a bit haphazard. Our waiter was polite and friendly but when he was on his break we struggled to order more drinks. We didn't see anyone else for miles and the service was generally slow although the restaurant was only half full.



Despite the hit and miss food, I enjoyed the overall experience because the restaurant gives the feeling of space and light. Generally, the atmosphere in Kennedy Town is more relaxed than in Central which is perhaps reflected in the service.

While the food in K-Town Bar and Grill is not Michelin starred, this is reflected in the price and if you select carefully you could be on to a real winner. The excellent location and atmosphere make it a top choice to meet friends for a casual Friday lunch.
