Melbourne artist Jon Campbell will use everyday life, language and rock and roll as his inspiration to create a colourful drawings. A major focus of the exhibition will be participation. Visitors will be invited to create their own Australian backyard experience using the outdoor everyday objects drawn by Campbell.
Interactive karaoke booths are provided for those who want to get more vocal. Campbell will use his 'yeah, yeah, yeah song' to sing and record creative duets with anyone wanting to make music.
The third part of the exhibition focuses on the 'yeah flag'. The 'yeah flag' is a flag which can be used in any context by anyone. Visitors are encouraged to use a word which is special to them for inspiration and illustrate it on a flag. The flag can then become part of a large installation of flags at the exhibition or be taken home.
The exhibition is open every day of the week except Mondays and Christmas Day from 10am - 5pm.
* The NGV has not used capital letters in the title of the exhibition or the name of the song/flag hence the lack of capital letters in this article.
