Some years ago now, Junktion opened in Sturt. A recycled goods and coffee shop, it was a hidden gem that the locals frequented. A place to meet, Junktion offered quality pre-loved goods ranging from kids clothing to bric-a-brac and a coffee and cake from their vintage deli fridge. They opened in 2012, but then in 2017 made the big move to Happy Valley.
Have you been back to Junktion?

The old Happy Valley Baptist Church is now home to the recycled goods and coffee shop
Now located in the historic old Happy Valley Baptist Church building, tucked behind some beautiful old swaying peppercorn trees, Junktion is a popular part of this southern suburb.
Still on offer are wonderful treasures. Pre-loved items of clothing (men's, women's, children's), books on all sorts of topics and in all sorts of genres; toys and games (some of them vintage and in mint condition); as well as all the typical op-shop or thrift store bric-a-brac. Of course, there is the freshly brewed coffee and homemade sweet treats just waiting to make your morning a little brighter.
Junktion, in its new little corner of Adelaide, is now a "funky meeting place which enables a start-up income stream for
AccessTheStory, and is an exciting opportunity for community engagement with local residents" and you can read more about the volunteers behind this little op-shop on their blog and website
here.
Junktion's prices are routinely cheaper in comparison to some other leading op-shop chains - with shoes @ $4, books @ $2 and dresses @ $8 for example, regardless of brand or whether they're BNWT (brand new with tags). The coffee and cake is also a bargain and they offer takeaway as well as some seating both indoor and outdoor for those wanting to make an outing of it or catch up with a friend.
There is ample parking at their new home in Happy Valley, with the church allowing access to the large gravel parking lot right next door - and if you're lucky enough as you get out of your car, you might spy a kangaroo or two on the grassy hill boarding the reservoir!
Junktion's hours are a little different too, you'll notice.
School terms ONLY.
Wed - Fri from 930am - 4pm & Sat from 930am - 1230pm.
72 Candy Rd, Happy Valley, SA
So, if you visited at the old location and haven't had time to get back there - or if you're just hearing about them now - make sure you head on up to Junktion in Happy Valley when they
re-open at the end of January for a brand new year full of brand-new-to-you bargains...and coffee, of course!
