Have you ever wanted to see what Zookeepers do behind the scenes at the Rockhampton Zoo? If you said yes then the Junior Zookeeper Experience may be your answer.

Held on Tuesday, 2 April 2024, starting from 10 am until 2 pm, during the April School Holidays, this program is suited for children ages 8 to 12 years old. The Junior Zookeeper Experience will take place at Rockhampton Zoo, 100 Spencer Street, Rockhampton, and will take you to parts of the zoo usually only inhabited by Zoo staff and the wonderful animals.

You will get the chance to make enrichment items, feed selected animals, help clean our enclosures, and maybe even hold a reptile while asking your Zookeeper Guide lots of questions. The experience includes;
• A dedicated Zookeeper
• Lunch from the Botanic Gardens Tearooms
• Rockhampton Zoo Junior Zookeeper hat
• Rockhampton Zoo Junior Zookeeper water bottle

Please note that animals such as chimpanzees and crocodiles will not be part of this experience but may be included in a talk or watching enrichment items being given.
