Explore the Mornington Peninsula with your kids. There's native animals to discover, birds to watch, games to play and history to learn for you and your kids age 6 to 12.

The ever popular Ranger led programs take place at various points of interest within park locations on the Southern Peninsula.

What's on this Winter?

At Point Nepean, you will partake in a journey of discovery through the parks' natural wonders. It is here, you and your kids will enjoy the 'Winter Games'; guaranteed to warm your insides and out in the cooler weather. Play historical games, enjoyed by Peninsula residents of yesteryear.

''Tour de Forts' will be back again, leading kids though a maze of underground tunnels and Gun Emplacements at Fort Nepean. There's nothing more exciting than a child exploring the wonders and mystery of a historical tunnel system, learning more of the lives of those serving in the WWI war.

'Finding Feathered Friends' takes in region's bird-life, introducing your budding young bird-watchers to the fascinating world of the feathered kind. Learning bird identification skills in the coastal and wetland environment, with stretch your kid's minds and their legs

Lastly, there's a unique opportunity to tour the Cape Schanck lighthouse this winter. The free tours will run on Friday 1 July and Wednesday 6 July, where you will journey up the stairs of the active lighthouse on the tip of the Peninsula, and learn more of the lives of the lighthouse-keeper kids and shipwrecks on the Peninsula. There are very few lighthouses in Australia that are still operating, and these holidays kids can explore a working lighthouse for themselves.

The Southern Peninsula Parks is where it's all at these winter school holidays, and the best part of all? These educational programs are FREE.
