Fancy having your very own in-house chocolatier? Well, send your kids along to the Junior Chocolatier Classes being held by the Yarra Valley Chocolaterie and Ice-Creamery during the 2013 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival. The 30 minute classes cost just $15, and your mini MasterChef will learn from the French and Belgian chocolatiers how to make a chocolate animal, inspired by the fauna of the Yarra Valley.
The classes are a 'parent-free zone', but you can easily while away half an hour over a coffee and cake or homemade ice-cream in their cafe. The classes are held over the weekend of March 16-17, from 9:00am to 4:30pm, and bookings are essential. Your kids will get generous tastings, their own chocolate creation and a Junior Chocolatier certificate.
To book, call (03) 9730 2777. Classes are limited to 10 children per session.
