Cheap drinks, loud music and a loose atmosphere– this is my first impression of The Jungle Nightclub, relative newcomer to the bustling fortitude valley nightlife.
When describing The Jungle, it helps to avoid drawing parallels between other popular nightclubs. It lacks for instance, the suave, sophisticated ambiance of Cloudland, the light shows on offer at Family, and the world class musicians that frequent The Zoo. Yet still, week after week since it's opening in February this year, I see The Jungle filling up with more and more patrons- party goers on the prowl for pandemonium. And for good reason.
It seems that word is reaching the ears of Brisbane's Valley goers, and the opinion is out- The Jungle is the place to go to unleash your inner animal. Located in the heart of the Valley, right next to Alhambra Lounge and just down from Family, it's an easy decision for pre-drinks, and with shots going for $3.50 it's not too hard to see why.
Not for the faint hearted, though certainly not trying to be. If you've grown somewhat tired of strict dress rules and pretentious crowds, then The Jungle may just turn out to be a refreshing surprise.
