I wandered into the sunny courtyard of The Mill Room on a crisp winter's day, lured by the rustic stone walls sharing the warmth they'd snatched from the sun. Olive trees bursting from their pots and bright red and pink geraniums weren't giving any clue that winter had set in with their flowers adding pops of colour in every corner. All of this was tucked away below the towering behemoth which is the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory, and it was so inviting I decided to stay awhile and order lunch.
Serving breakfast from 9am - 11am and lunch from 11am - 3pm, the Mill Room offers a short menu of classic pub-style food - simple but tasty and prepared with care. There are weekly burger and soup specials, bangers and chips, a salad option and Sunday pizzas.
The restaurant is licensed so you can add a beer or wine to your meal and really ramp up the relaxation factor. The Mill Room also offers kid's meals which come with a chocolate freckle and juice and with plenty of space to run around, this is a perfect place for families too. The menu is adjusted seasonally and the meals are tasty and very hearty with generous portions.
Once you've eaten, the Junee Licorice and Chocolate Factory awaits, so make sure you save some room for sweet treats too - with varieties and flavours to suit every taste and the option to wander around the factory to peek behind the scenes, you can have your very own Willy Wonka moment!
