The pool
Most hotels in Abu Dhabi are quite swanky and the hotel owners don't do things by half. Nowhere is this more prevalent, than the Jumeirah Zabeel Saray, where opulence is what it was built on.
The huge lobby is replete with marble, sleek details like a pine bar a fountain and mini water features. It errs on the side of just enough decor without being grandiose, but it also features a jewellers, clothes shops, a gym, and plenty of plush seats.

Zabeel Saray
My sisters and I didn't make any reservations, but the staff were more than happy to accommodate us immediately and there were plenty of free tables for us to sit on outside.
We had initially only popped in for a drink, but the menu looked tempting and we opted for the satay chicken. The plate was a generous serving of twelve portions, with delicious peanut-sauce dip.

Satay chicken
The chicken was cooked to perfection, and the sauce was finger-licking-good.
I'll begrudgingly admit that the service was a tad on the slow side. The hotel itself is breathtaking and the stunning views and ideal sun-spot make it perfect for holiday goers, but for a quick drink, or a snack with friends, prepare to wait.
