These school holidays look set to be a mixed bag weather wise so there's likely to be some necessary indoor activity time. Rather than stay cooped up at home, have a look at what your local shopping centre is offering up as activities for your children. Here is my pick of the bunch.
Ocean Keys Based in Perth's northern suburbs, this shopping centre is offering up a great range of free school holiday activities to keep your little ones entertained this school break.
From Monday 9th July - Friday 13th July come and visit the West Australian Birds of Prey talks and shows, getting up close and personal with many beautiful winged creatures from owls to eagles. Catch the talks at 11am, 12.30pm and 2pm and visit the birds any time between 11am and 3pm outside of Kmart.

For kids with more energy, from Monday 16th - Thursday 19th July you can take advantage of the free supervised sports and games from 11am and 1pm daily organized by Jungle Sports and happening outside of Kmart. Little kids might also like to meet Roar the Lion who is visiting the centre on Thursday 19th July.
This July school holidays see the ABC Actvity Centre taking pride of place outside of IGA Centre Court from Monday 9th - Friday 13 July between 10am and 1pm. This multi faceted activity zone provides three spaces for children to have fun and explore the ABC world. There is one zone for arts and craft work, another for reading with a variety of ABC books to choose from and a further zone for chilling out and relaxing whilst watching popular ABC kids programs.
For the final week of school holidays, the ABC zone changes theme and in its place will be the Puss in Boots interactive Zone. This is a great place to take any budding artists, as each child will have the opportunity to create and design their own Puss in Boots pencil case, and take this home with them. Come along between 10am and 1pm to Centre Court, near IGA from Monday 16th to Friday 20th July. Check out the full details online.
Westfields Karrinyup Until I was a parent, I did not know what or who Peppa Pig was. I think I may even have made a faux pas and used the phrase peppered pig, turning this favoured kids TV character, into something of an edible delicacy. Now that I am in the know, I can happily inform you that Peppa Pig is coming to Karrinyup Shopping Centre this July school holiday, delighting the little people of Perth. Catch Peppa Pig and her friend between Monday 16th to Saturday 21st July on Centre Court in this musical treat that will have your little guys singing and bopping away.
Performance times are daily at 10.30am and 12.30pm with additional shows on Thursday at 16.30pm and 18.30pm.

For those wanting to meet and greet their favourite TV pig, head to Level 1, near the ABC Shop at either 11.30am or 1.30pm each day with some additional meet and greet slots on a Thursday night at 17.30pm and 19.30pm.
Forrest Place, Perth
If your venturing into the City of Perth during the school holidays, then head to Forrest Chase to enjoy the Big Top Olympics. This event promises to be a high energy sporting spectacular that mixes popular Olympic events with favourite circus acts. You can catch the performance at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 2.30pm between 9th July and 21st July. This looks to be an event for all of the family to enjoy.

Carousel Shopping Centre
If your child is a fan of Daffy Duck and friends, then make their day by taking them to Perth's largest shopping centre to catch the Looney Tunes show these July school holidays.

Join your kids in the hilarity and fun of the Looney Tunes live stage show, between Monday 9th and 13th July at either the 11am or 1pm performances, or both if your kid is a die hard fan.
Taking place on Centre Court; don't forget to take your camera for the meet and greet with Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck & Tweety Bird after the show.
So many free events for your family, the only problem you'll have is trying to fit it all in.
