School holidays. It's a time when the kids say 'hooray' and parents start tearing their hair out. If you need some ideas on how to keep your youngsters busy, keep reading.

Movies
There are some new ones just for kids just in time for the holidays, like Ice Age 4. Click for more .

Art
Yes, you can take your kids to see the Picasso to Warhol exhibit at the Art Gallery of WA. Half the fun is the train ride into the city. Click for more .

Dinosaurs
Check out the Dinosaur Petting Zoo at the WA Museum. This is an exhibit where kids are actually encouraged to touch the displays. Click for more . Or the ones at Scitech are still on display too. Click for more .

Ballet**
Yes, it IS ballet - but it's not as you know it. Older kids will get a kick out of Rock the Ballet. Click for more .

In the City
The City of Perth's Winter Arts Festival is on with different activities (mostly for older kids). Click for more . And for the younger ones, have a look at the City Playground Guide where you're encouraged to explore the city. Click for more .

Lunch for Everyone
Why not check out one of Perth's restaurants with a built-in play area. Parents are happy, kids are happy! The Laughin Barrel in the Swan Valley is the pick of these spots because kids get to cook their own pizzas. Click for more .

Rotto
How long has it been since you've been to Rottnest Island? Click for more and plan a daytrip.

Animals
If your kids like furry animals you might want to plan a trip to the zoo. Kids aged 8 to 13 can get out the Zoo Crew activities. Click for more . If you're on a tighter budget, check out the Landsdale Farm. Click for more .

Indoor Play
When it's raining but you really want to get out of the house, check out one of Perth's many indoor play centres. Click for more .
