New to Canberra, I love exploring this city and the secrets that it holds with my family.

Picnics and Playtime at this Woden Park
Isaacs is a suburb in Woden, tucked away on the side of a hill off Yamba Drive. It is a quiet neighbourhood built in the 1980s, with a small set of shops and a surprisingly large playground that is sure to entertain the young ones if you are in the area.
This park is in two parts - the kids can have a play on the top playground with slippery dip, swings, bridge to navigate and play things to climb on.
The park is a peaceful setting under the trees, with birdlife to enjoy. For most of the year, they happily chirp in the trees, however in springtime they are protective of their eggs and can swoop. Look out for the signs under certain trees at these times.
The location is right next door to a day care centre, so you may find the occasional group of kids venturing around the playground looking for pine cones for their craft activities. Also next to the park is an Indian restaurant, Aroma - the smells coming from their restaurant are sure to make you hungry. If the kids need a drink or snack, then there is a also a convenience store in the set of shops adjacent to the park.
If you are in Woden, this quiet playground tucked away in Isaacs is a pleasant spot for a play and a run around. With the weather warming up it is the perfect time to pack a picnic and get out and about in the parks in Canberra's local suburbs.
