Julia Creek maybe be a small Outback town (400 locals) in North Queensland and in the middle of nowhere to many. With its glaring sunlight, harsh winds and muddy creek, it has the perfect conditions and destination for what is surely the dirtiest, dustiest, most challenging festival you will find in Australia – the Julia Creek Dirt n Dust Festival.

Delight in the drama on dirt in the PBR Bullring as the crazy but brave cowboys risk it all against the monstrous bulls that can weigh as much as 1,000kg.
Dirt n Dust has long been associated with its famous novelty events with 2018 featuring the famous Bog Snorkelling, Cow Pat Throwing, Fly Catching and kid's entertainment, including old school games, sack races, quoits, 3 legged races and much more.
Experience country racing at its best with the Julia Creek Turf Club presenting the Artesian Express Race Day. The race day includes the exclusive Country Tastes Luncheon, Fashions on the Field, roving children's entertainment and good old-fashioned novelty games entertainment for the kids and adults alike!
Those making the trek will be rewarded with a friendly welcome, great hospitality and some of the best home-grown Aussie talent from across the country, plus a few international artists!
Every year, the Friday Night Concert is a chance for festival-goers to let their hair down and soak up the spirit of the outback, ahead of a huge jam-packed weekend. The live entertainment is backed up again on Saturday Night after the Dirt n Dust PBR Bullride from 9.30PM. The 2018 line-up features King Social, The Nu Black and Tony Cook.
