There's a brand new juice joint in Perth's most picturesque tourist hotspot, London Court, that is sure to become your new go-to for cool healthy drinks over the summer. Juice Station may be small, but its owners imbue a lot of passion, which translates into their state of the art juicing processes and products.
Founded by husband and wife duo Sujit and Dear, Juice Station's mission is to 'provide healthy products without harming the environment or the health of [their] customers.' Their business journey began after Sujit was diagnosed with Ulceraive Colitis Disorder (IBD) in 2012 and was prescribed medications that he would continue for life. By following a raw vegan diet, Sujit was instead able to restore and even elevate his health. With a healthier lease of life, Sujit and Dear wished to share the positive benefits of the diet and juicing; noticing a clear lack of places to get such raw food options in Perth city, Juice Station filled the need for an easy way to get healthy raw juices, smoothies and snacks in the CBD.
With the saying 'Be the change you want to see in the word' at the core of its ethos, Juice station runs a non-commercial business which is 99% plastic free, including its bags, bottles, straws and cups. Sujit and Dear also show their commitment to producing juices, smoothies and raw food products free from sugar and preservatives by making them onsite and on-demand where customers can see. Their juices are all cold pressed, which Sujit explains maintains its value and a higher amount of enzymes, so customers can rest assured what they'll receive is the best of the best. With a shelf life of 2-5 days, the juices are also without any nasties.
The juice menu is, of course, the drawcard to Juice Station and certain combinations are available either both in store and for cleanses or for cleanses only. As a newcomer to 'cold pressed' juice, I was suitably surprised at how much I enjoyed the range of juices on offer. Particular standouts included Antioxidant, a red apple, beetroot, mint leaf and watermelon juice, Naked Mojito, a green apple, mint and pineapple juice, and Immune Booster, an apple, carrot, ginger, spinach and sweet potato juice. Between them, these three juices are all accredited to a range of benefits such as aiding digestion, anti-inflammatory properties, preventing cell damage, boosting the immune system and more.
For those who may not be so keen on juice, the range of six different smoothies will certainly win anyone over. While a lot healthier than the typical 'smoothie', using no dairy products and coconut water as a base, they don't compromise on deliciousness. Their best-seller is currently Fountain of Youth, which is a combination of banana, blueberry, coconut oil, coconut water and strawberry.
If you find yourself in Perth City, be sure to pop down to Juice Station for a refresher. While tiny, it is mighty and a wonderful local business whose owners are truly passionate about their product and the customer.
