Having recently moved to Prahran, it's only apt that I discover another new kid in town. Joylati Gelateria is a sight for sore eyes with its cascading chocolate waterfall and inviting decor.

There's Individual seating for that tete-a-tete over a delicious smooth ice cream or the long tables when you feel like being social, sharing a table with strangers and perhaps making new friends.

I was lucky enough to meet the owners Cristino and Fabrizio who happened to be there on the day. This couple ran a gelateria for 15 years in Piedmont, northern Italy, until the call of adventures 'downunder' whispered in their ears.

They just packed up and left with their three young children and arrived on our shores, right here in Melbourne; thank goodness for us, in 2015. Still very new to the country, Joylati Gelateria opened its doors in Prahran just 2 months ago.

Christina and Fabrizio may have come here for new adventures, but I somehow get the feeling we're getting the benefits of this adventurous gelateria ride.

Wondeful news for the vegans hanging out for of that great taste. With vegan flavours like vegan almond sorbet, vegan hazelnut, vegan pistaccho, coconut, mango banana, lemon, pear and cloves, camparancio (oranges and campari), and passionfruit, you'll be spoilt for choice.

Even better news is that you can also buy vegan gelato cakes like hazelnut with rice milk, pistachio with rice milk and chocolate sorbet with puffed rice and chocolate to name a few.

Jolati Gelateria with its Italian artisan gelati made from authentic, traditional recipes is a welcome addition to Chapel street. Thank goodness for us, they're inspired by the seasons, good fruits and the natural benefits of organic milk and eggs.

Handmade with a lot of pride for the traditional and natural, make sure you do the taste test for yourself of these delicious choices made in vintage vertical machines that only add to the adage it's made with a lot of love, passion and care. Go ahead and get yourself a little taste of Italy!
