Joseph de la Hoyde is a multimedia artist whose visceral and ethereal work explores the juxtaposition of beauty and death. His first solo exhibition comes after being selected as a finalist in the Hornsby Art Prize in which his work 'Melancholy' was showcased. The exhibition features a collection of his photography, writing and curiosities at the Sydney Art School, Hornsby.

"A Body of Desire Exhibition" is a solo exhibition of Hornsby Art Prize Finalist Joseph de la Hoyde, featuring a collection of his best photographs, writing and curiosities. Joseph's work is melancholic and ethereal, examining themes relating to dreams, the imagination, and the juxtaposition of beauty and death.
"A Body of Desire" is an art project that explores the dilemmas of the modern psyche. The new generation is a generation that is more spiritually, emotionally and politically aware than ever before.
Different form of artworks are presented at this exhibition, and each and every of them are thought provoking in their own way. He is a man of many talents and he has expressed art through many forms, such as poetry, drawing, music, photography and more.
His work has such a unique style, delicate and dark at the same time, walking between his artwork is like walking in a dream or a nightmare that you don't want to wake up from.
Being a poet, he has titled his artworks in a facilitating way, every title sound like a beginning to a new poem of his.
