It sounds funny, doesn't it?

Placed in the heart if Malacca City and beside the oh so famous A Famosa, Jonker Walk is definitely one of my more adventurous shopping sites.

The shops are located along the Jonker street, so you can walk on one side and upon coming back, walk on the other side of the street. There really isn't anything fancy to buy, but if you have a thing for antique items or quirky knick knacks, then this is your heaven,

There was a shop which I found that I never found again, a funky antique shop that smelled like my grandmother's talcum powder. I bought two baroque-ish rings there and was mortified when I found out that I didn't carry enough cash to pay for this sweet Chinese ceramic lamp with hand painted drawings in it.

It quite hot there, there is no air conditioning and the shops are continuously filled with people, so if you are up for some adventure scoot yourself to Malacca City and join the crowd. Or else you can go tithe relatively newer Dataran Pahlawan, a proper shopping mall.

While you're in Malacca, do stay at the One of the many Nyonya hotels there, it is an experience that I can't put a word to.
