I like to participate in life rather than be a spectator. Music, dancing, theatre, travelling, food, cycling and walking are some of my passions. Writing is an enjoyable pastime that allows me to share my experiences.

Overlooking Newcastle Beach.
Jonahs On The Beach is the restaurant for
Noahs Hotel. Open seven days a week to provide breakfast, lunch and dinner for hotel guests and the general public. Floor to ceiling windows and a slightly elevated position provide great views of Newcastle Beach and the Supercars racetrack.

During the day, there is a special priced
set menu where there are four choices for each course. This is great value at $48 for two courses and $55 for three courses.

There is also a
al la carte menu if you fancy something not on the set menu such as the seared scallops or the poached king prawns.

The food is delicious, well presented and quite generous in serving size. The staff are attentive and friendly and you are free to relax and enjoy your meal and the views.

The lamb was perfectly cooked and its juicy sweetness was complemented by the middle eastern flavours of chickpeas and hummus. The market fish was tuna and which went very well with the lemongrass and coconut cream sauce and black rice.

Apart from the usual meal service Jonah's have a variety of function spaces and cater for weddings and parties. They also have
special events for Mothers Day, Melbourne Cup, New Year's Eve etc.
We had a lovely couple of hours dining at Jonah's on a wet and windy day.
