Have you fallen into the trap of letting toys take over the house?
I know I have!

A house full of toys yet nothing to do. Kids get bored with the same old toys so it's a good idea to rotate them every few weeks.

When I bring out a box of toys my little monkeys haven't seen for a few weeks it's like Christmas - new toys!

But what if you don't have the space to store all the toys? Or the budget to buy them in the first place?

Join your local Toy Library!

What is a Toy Library?
It is just like a regular Book Library except you borrow toys instead of books!

For an annual fee, you get access to hundreds of quality toys for a whole year.

Why join a Toy Library?
Try before you buy - Discover new toys your children like without having to buy themBeat the boredom - change your toys every week or twoIt's good for the environment Gain access to hundreds of toysKids get to try new things and develop new skills with different toys
Save money!

How do Toy Libraries work?
Toy Libraries are not for profit organisations usually run by volunteers. You pay a joining fee then you are free to borrow toys for 2-3 weeks at a time with no extra fees!

What ages of children do Toy Libraries cater for?
Toy Libraries generally provide toys aimed at babies, toddlers and preschoolers.

However, since a lot of the toys are open ended, allowing for different types of play, older siblings often enjoy them too. My six and nine year old still enjoy visiting our local for games, puzzles and toys!

How much does it cost to join a Toy Library?
In my experience a yearly membership costs around $50-70 for a family membership, up to $150 for Family day carers who want to borrow more toys.

My local Toy Library has memberships for $70 where you can borrow 3 toys, 2 puzzles, 2 games and 2 parenting books each fortnight.
