November brings a giant hamper of free and ticketed activities from exhibitions to walks and comedy acts to cultural festivals. If you're looking for a walk that's more fun and active than a stroll in the Royal Botanic Gardens , then check out the Swisse Color Run taking place in Flemington Racecourse on 16 November.

The Color Run originated from the US and has since expanded to over 200 cities including Sydney , Taipei, Dubai , Marseille, Amsterdam , Jakarta, Munich and many more. It is now the single largest running event series around the globe with events in 27 countries including Netherlands , Peru, UK, Belgium , Japan, Finland and Singapore .

The 'Happiest 5k Run on the Planet' is the only running event of its kind in Australia that combines a great way to stay active with a fun social event filled with loads of powdered make up. Here are some quick facts to get you up and out the door.

  • Everyone is welcomed to join in regardless of age or fitness level. Don't be surprised by the babies in arms and 80 year old seniors. Since there's no race to get anywhere real fast, you can walk, run, dance, crawl and even cartwheel to the finish line in full colours.

  • This is simply a fun run so you don't have to be concerned with competitors or world records to break. The run is not even timed. Just grab your family and friends, and enjoy a fun time out together with plenty of colours to show for it at the end of the day.

  • Your ticket also includes some fun and colourful stuff like an official event shirt, sweat band, wristband, slingbag, temporary tattoo, and a bottle of water and bag of coloured powder at the finish line. Plus, there's a great post-run party with music from the main stage and massive colour throws at the finish line.

  • Be prepared for a full makeover with vibrant colours when you join this unique paintrun. There is no other 5 kilometre run where you will be powdered with colour along the route. Then doused some more at the finish line with a gigantic "Finish Festival" of colour combinations. Good news is the powder is derived from 100% natural food-grade corn starch and can be removed easily after the run.

  • With tickets to the Melbourne event on 16 November running out quick, make sure you grab your tickets before they are all sold out.
