Putting a good face on it
Angela works as an Aged Carer, which can sometimes be stressful and tiring. Her supervisor makes a point of emphasising that they should also take care of ourselves, so when she was offered the opportunity of a session with JoiPure she was thrilled.
It's a little difficult to explain exactly what JoiPure is, because it is so many things - therapeutic, Organic Skincare producers, rejuvenating beauty treatments, a retreat as well as specialising in facials, IPL and make up with additional treatments available.
JoiPure is a purpose built treatment centre set in the picturesque hills of Brigadoon in the Swan Valley and is surrounded by natural bush landscape.
JoiPure is run by Nicole Stewart, an elegant and immaculate professional. A self-confessed perfectionist, Nicole has spent a great deal of time and taken a lot of trouble to create the perfect setting for her skills.
The treatment rooms are perfectly organised and the coffee-coloured walls and wood provide a soothing and quiet atmosphere.
Nicole discovered her passion for aromatherapy whilst working as a Registered Nurse in England.
Upon her return to Australia and inspired by the holistic healing power of pure essential oils, she commenced her study in Aromatherapy.
As her knowledge and interest in the field grew, she was disenchanted to discover the number of companies and products that were marketed as "aromatherapy" that had no aromatherapeutic qualities or values whatsoever and in fact manufactured products that contained a myriad of harmful chemicals including synthetic fragrances.
This prompted Nicole to begin researching the true benefits of essential oils in relation to skin care. In 1996 she began developing the JOI range of PURE aromatherapy products.
The philosophy behind this development was to provide a truly genuine range of natural plant and aromatherapy-based skin care that was free from harmful chemicals, was affordable and that contained pure, active ingredients that actually worked.
Angela removed her jewellery and lay down on the bed so that Nicole could work her magic on Angela's face with a 'Hydro-Balance Facial' - this was a lengthy process of putting on and removal of unguents and oils to nourish and restore natural skin balance.
The process was obviously therapeutic, but more importantly from Angela's perspective was that it was relaxing - the scalp massage and hand massage was just wonderful she reports. "Nicole worked the joints of my fingers so relaxingly and soothingly that I almost drifted off."
Nicole also gave a brief treatment of IPL - Intense Pulse Light, which uses pulses of visible white light of different wave lengths to treat various skin conditions relating to photo ageing (sun damage), pigmentation, broken capillaries, uneven skin texture as well as permanent hair reduction.
The IPL treatments vary in cost due to time and size from $20 for a spot treatment to $500 for full back permanent hair reduction.
IPL hair reduction treatments are most effective as a course of treatments with intervals of two to ten weeks between sessions.
As well as these JoiPure offers a large range of Facial Treatments in the Rejuvenation Room, Make-up services utilising Logona Certified Natural and Organic cosmetics for brides and bridal parties, special occasions, School Balls and photographic and high fashion shoots.
And that, of course, is in addition to the large range of skincare products, all guaranteed natural and organic from JoiPure.
But your best bet is to go along and speak to Nicole or book yourself in for a session.
As I always say about restaurants I like: 'Very highly Recommended'.
