Going Absolutely Nuts
It would be so simple to turn this article into something crass. But I'm going to try to keep this absolutely above board. I'm not even going to be tempted to make reference to, at any time whatsoever, to any male body parts.
I can imagine some of the conversations had about giving this nut shop an appropriate name. I'm guessing that one of the original owners, some 20 years ago, was called John.
Gifts for all occasions
John's Nuts is one of the fastest growing franchises in Australia. They pride themselves on being an eco conscious company with a natural quality projects.
Their products make a great present, particularly for men when you don't know what to buy them. I noticed they had some gift wrapped presents or you can purchase a gift jars and fill it up with the selection of your choice.
Personalise your gift
In addition, they sell chocolate nuts, honey range, spicy nuts and the classic range. John's Nuts also sells dried fruits, confectionery and other snacks.
The thing my kids love about John's Nuts is the complimentary taste testing. The Greensborough store is right near Coles so it has lots of shoppers passing by who can help themselves to John's delicious nuts. This is an excellent marketing strategy because we often end up buying a few packs because we can't agree on one.
More than just nuts
The good thing about John's Nuts is the large variety and the ability to buy small bags of healthy snacks. They are comparatively inexpensive as well because, depending on your selection, for about one hundred grams of nuts it may only cost you a couple of dollars.
I prefer this snack to some other fatty versions. And here's where one of the myths about nuts is demystified. If you don't eat too much they have a large range of health benefits. For example, walnuts and almonds contain Omega 3 (healthy fatty acid) and reduce the chance of heart disease.
Nuts are also a source of fibre, they can help lower cholesterol, aid food digestion and contain many vitamins such as A and E, folic acid copper, zinc, potassium and other nutrients.
Too many varieties of cashews!
Nuts have natural oils, which rejuvenate the skin and work a little bit like moisturisers. However the main reason I shop at John's Nuts is that the nuts are fresh and delicious. My biggest dilemma is which cashews to choose from: Dukka, Moroccan, Peri Peri, or gourmet cashews. Which are your favourite?
