I was lucky enough to score tickets to 'Looking Through A Glass Onion' at the Regal Theatre in Perth late last year, in which I happily accepted because it's John Lennon. Come on.

And having heard that this show was back for the second time following it's huge success first time around, it sounded like something that couldn't be missed.

The solo works of John Lennon are, in a word, magic. His lyrics are deep, his angle was always politically controversial, and his presence oozes something unseen in so many artists today. Just writing about him gives me tingles.

John Lennon in my mind is 'the man', so I was worried John Waters, nor any man could do him justice. But I have to say, this show is nothing short of spectacular.

So it's no surprise it's heading to Perth again for the third time.

John Waters plays the part of John Lennon in this unique stage show. Part concert, part monologue, the audience is lead through the key events of Lennon's life, spanning from the Beatles days, to his death, accompanied by four musicians.

Lighting also plays a big part in this production, giving it a little extra depth and feeling.

Some stand out moments for me were of John Waters talking about a man standing outside his hotel room. The lights going down, and while still dark, 'Imagine' begins to play.

The songs 'Jealous Guy' and 'Woman' were other stand out moments for me.

I cannot speak highly enough of John Waters in this show. So many times I felt as if I was sitting there watching the real John Lennon.

I highly recommend this show for Beatles fans, Lennon fans, in fact, any human being.

This time around it plays at The Astor, Saturday October 8.
